Die Foerderer der Ben-Gurion Universitaet des Negev (BGU) in
Deutschland bieten eine Reise nach Israel vom 7. bis 14.Juni 1998 zum Preis von 2041,- DM
an (Aufpreis ab Berlin oder Frankfurt 69,-DM, fuer Einzelzimmer 411,-DM).

Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Reise ist der Besuch
der BGU. Hier werden verschiedene Forschugnsprojekte besichtigt, und es besteht die
Gelegenheit, Professoren verschiedener Fakultaeten sowie Studenten im Gespraech
kennenzulernen. Ausserdem ist ein Besuch in Jerusalem
vorgesehen.
Von der BGU erhielten wir die folgende Einladung:
"... The university has made giant strides forward in both research and teaching. Its
achievements in many areas, especially research on arid and semi-arid regions, have
received world-wide acclaim. BGU researchers maintain close scientific ties with
colleagues in many countries around the globe and special efforts are being made to help
the populations of desert regions.
...Our more than 13.500 students are known for their commitment to working with the
community, and thousands of them volunteer to help local schoolchildren with their
studies. Hundreds of students live in 'open appartments' in underpriviledged neighborhoods
in Beer Sheva and help the local population, while many more take part in additional
community projects. The university also has an Overseas Student Program in which students
from around the world can study courses in English given by BGU faculty and at the same
time learn Hebrew and get to know the country.
We would like you to visit BGU and become more closely acquainted with the innovative work
being done here. The university's Associates in Germany are preparing a tour to Israel on
June 7-14, 1998, most of which will be devoted to visiting the university and its campuses
in Beer Sheva and Sede Boker.

member and students...."
